Debunking the Myths about Tallow in Skincare

Tallow has been misunderstood, largely due to all the misinformation spread on social media platforms, mainly by people in lab coats or those who influence large brands for their own financial gain. “You will smell like a burger!” “It will clog your pores!”  Like all things, quality matters. The five-dollar jar you had shipped from overseas isn’t the same as the local, high quality, small batch you paid thirty dollars for at the artisan market.

In the process of formulating nourishing tallow products, a unique way to “modernize” tallow was created. Light and creamy in texture, easily absorbed, complimented with a light-natural floral scent.

Grass fed tallow is a far cry from being a greasy, pore-clogging, heavy moisturizer. Its molecular structure closely mimics skin’s natural oils, making it recognizable, easily absorbed and immediately effective.

Unlike barrier disrupting synthetic moisturizers, tallow instantly nourishes with essential fatty acids and vitamins A, D, E, and K. Tallow restores balance and supports barrier resilience. With tallow being quickly absorbed into the skin there is no greasy, pore clogging residue left behind. It is not a random trend, it’s a tried-and-true ancestral ingredient. Like many natural products, big companies took an Earth-given ingredient and found a way to create a cheaper version and market the heck out of it.

Specifically, with PipHen Skin, the tallow used is grass fed and sourced from small, family owned, American farms. All tallow products are infused with lavender, chamomile, and rose bud botanicals. As the tallow soaks up the calming, healing, and hydrating properties it also takes on a lovely floral scent. This base sets the tone for your skin barrier, to be deeply nourished, healed, and moisturized.
